Exploring New Communication through AR Artworks Utilizing Space as a Medium
As a residency artist, I presented my work at Places Festival 2024.
A projector was installed on a helmet and mirrored with a smartphone on the back of the head. The image from the projector is projected onto the wall in response to the head’s movements.
One image is split into RGB, and when combined into one, it becomes colorful again.

This work was exhibited at the Places Festival 2024 held in Ückendorf, Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
The purpose of this project was to use space as a medium and promote communication through shared visual experiences with others. Many works in the XR field are difficult to share with others. For example, in VR works, people not wearing goggles cannot see the VR world, and in AR works, experiences can only be obtained through a screen. Therefore, in this work, the XR world is projected into the real world, allowing everyone in the same space to share the same view.
