The Big Bang at 15:11 on April 17, 2023

Approaching the dimensions of “regionality”, “time” and “dimension”

Work summary (concept)

1, 4 minute exhibition. Sunlight is reflected onto the paper by a mirror.
Because the sun moves, the light hits the paper for only 4 minutes.

2. The paper is handmade from local plants. The nutrients in this place, the energy that falls on this place, becomes paper and is illuminated again to create the next universe.

3, The paper pattern works like a QR code.

4. The room is dark, so the smartphone only recognizes it when there is light. Sunlight becomes energy, paper stores energy, and AR works like a big bang.

5. This smartphone is the link between two universes. The world on the screen is the world behind the real world. This smartphone is the gateway to the universe.

6, This URL (https://skfb.ly/oGQxL) is a wormhole, a time slip to the past world. You can access this space (in the world at 15:11 on April 17, 2023) anytime and anywhere.
The URL becomes a wormhole. The essence is information.

Production method

Four mirrors carried sunlight into the dark room.
The paper was handmade from weeds that were growing around the exhibition venue. He imitated the method used to make washi paper and completed it by boiling, pounding, and drying grass.
Using this pattern like a QR code, I created an app that launches a 3D space in AR when a programmed image is read (produced with Unity).
The room is a 3D object obtained by 3D scanning an actual real-world room using iPhone 12 Pro’s LiDAR (app used: Scaniverse). The data was adjusted with Blender and used as room data.
