The origami cranes filling this space are crafted from handmade paper, created by boiling and beating local “weeds” and meticulously forming each sheet. Part of the paper used for these cranes was handmade by numerous participants during a workshop held on March 29, 2026. The origami crane is a symbol of prayers for peace. There is a story from Hiroshima of a young girl who, wishing for her recovery, folded cranes from medicine wrappers, entrusting each one with her hope. The act of folding transcends time, connecting to the multitude of cranes resonating here today, weaving together human emotions and the memory of handcraft. This work is not a static installation. During the exhibition, random performances will take place inside the artwork. By witnessing these moments and becoming part of the piece, viewers can experience the living breath of this “flock.”
